Why can I not use this as a ledger and apply a certain amount with amount still showing due?

    Paying Employees

    I would like to be able to put in a payment amount rather than marking each day as paid. Our employees have a running balance and get paid as requested in a lumpsum. example the hours add up to $1000.00 but they ask to get paid for $300. I want to be able to just apply a -$300 to the time sheet for the day they are requesting payment
