Is marking entries as paid still a premium feature?

I’ve been using this app for years now, and being able to use the feature to mark entries as paid has always been a subscription only thing. I just had my brother download the app, and now he can use that feature, with no subscription. I made sure he didn’t accidentally subscribe or do a free trial. and i deleted and reinstalled my app to see if it would let me use that feature, and it still did not. I’m thinking it’s a glitch?
