Account Types
Last updated 6 months ago
Time Squared offers two types of accounts, depending on whether you’re tracking time for yourself or for a whole team.
1. Individual Accounts
Best for:
Freelancers and sole proprietors.
Employees who want to track their own time without involving their employer (though in many cases, a team account is a better fit).
How it works:
You track and manage your own time.
Ideal if you’re working independently.
If you’re part of a company, consider asking your manager to create a Team Account instead, so everything is easier to manage.
2. Team Accounts
Best for:
Companies, teams, and groups with multiple people.
How it works:
All time entries from team members are automatically synced.
Managers and the account owner can see and manage everyone’s tracked time.
Employees don’t have to pay individually or deal with ads—the employer pays for a single subscription that covers everyone.
No more emailing timesheets back and forth—everything updates automatically.
Roles in a Team Account
Owner → The person who created the account.
Managers → Can view and edit everyone’s time.
Employees → Can track and view only their own time.
👉 Currently, only Owners and Managers can access the Time Squared web app.
