Video guide

In this video, I walk you through how to effectively track your time using our app, Time Squared.

When you first launch the app, you'll find the time card tab with options to punch in or add an entry.

I explain how to organize your time entries by adding projects, jobs, or clients, and how to manage multiple entries throughout the day.

β†’ Note: in a Team Account, users with an employee role can not create new projects. Only team managers can set up new projects.

Additionally, I highlight the flexibility of adding flat fee entries for specific tasks.

Please take a moment to explore these features and see how they can enhance your time management.

0:00 Okay, welcome back to Time Squared. We're going to look into tracking our time and saving entries. When you launch your app or when you sign up, you're going to be taken to the time card tab.

0:14 Here, you have two prominent buttons. One is punching in, the other one's add entry. Most people use punch in, and when you punch in or clock in, it's going to start a timer for you.

0:26 Here, you can adjust the start time. You can add a project, job, or client if you want to organize your times better, or add a note or notes.

0:40 It's not just one note, uh, as well as breaks. When you're done, you punch out and you're taken to this screen here, where you can modify all the details for your time entry.

0:52 Here, I can say, all right, you don't want to actually want to add a project for this. Organize it. And the project field is very flexible.

1:00 Here, you see you've written job, project, or client. And it basically comes down to how you organize your times or how you work.

1:07 So let's say I, I work with a bunch of clients. and each one might have multiple jobs or multiple projects.

1:15 So I would say, hey, find one. I want to do, Uhm, say, job one. I don't know why my space isn't working here, but let's say we do the keyboard.

1:35 Okay. So, you've got client one, job one. And for this specific job, uh, for this specific project, we're going to say, you don't want to add the area, I don't want to use 25.

1:49 five. And we use that. Okay. And you can change the start and multiple breaks or edit the breaks If you have a uh, premium subscription, you'd be able to add photo attachments.

2:03 That's it. Uh, so that was the first way of adding an entry. You can also just skip the timer, just add an entry without going through all the client and punch in, punch out.

2:15 Just same as before. Add in the details and say, um, the third thing is, let's say you are getting paid by job, like flat fee based on work done.

2:29 Um. It's not, you know, hourly based or you're saying, Hey, I do some hourly work, but also if I do specific things or I sell specific things, I may get a flat.

2:40 That's also possible. So you do add flat fee. Uh, the name of the thing, it could be, you know, I want to do an h-match installation.

2:52 I don't know why the space isn't working, but let's, that is the V or install instance. That was a good word for that.

3:01 And for that, I do, uh, 500 go. Same font. That one I did yesterday. Notes, photos, same as before. It's Now, the difference between time squared and like a paper timesheet is that at a paper timesheet, you would have just one row for a day.

3:20 Uh, in time squared, you know, it's software you can add as many entries as you want for each day. And basically what that means is, let's say you do multiple work.

3:30 Uh, different clients, different types of work that have different hourly rates. You can just punch in with the first work when you're done with that job.

3:39 Punch out and then punch in again with something else, different hourly rate. You can punch in and punch out as many times as you want.

3:45 And all those entries here, like I've got, uh, for today, I've got two engines. trees. One of the most of them where I punched in and punched out the manual entry one.

3:56 And here's the flat fee one that I added. If you have multiple entries for one day, it will just show up.

4:04 Um, so if you're doing split shifts or different clients, that's the way to do it. And I think that basically covers all the different ways of adding an entry for you.
